Cats may get infected with Toxoplasma gondii through ingestion of birds or rodents with tissue cysts (bradyzoites) . The picture was taken in a zoo where the presence of feral cats not only can increase the T. gondii zoonotic risk, but also can become a problem for animals kept in captivity.
