As part of the applied microeconomics structure, Industrial Organization uses the basic tools of microeconomic theory and game theory to study the structure and behavior of firms and their strategic interactions with one another in the marketplace. This course relies on primary readings from the database community to introduce graduate students to the foundations of database systems, focusing on basics such as the relational algebra and data model, schema normalization, query optimization, and transactions. Description

This resource introduces the various key issues businesses need to take into account when building commercial websites, with a particular emphasis on security. Clicking on sub-headings reveals information about each issue. These are: the need for a secure server through which information can be encrypted; the operating system used, typically Unix or Windows; the server scripting support that will allow users to interact with the website in question; search engine registration; and the capacity to process credit and debit card transactions securely.
