This short film is an interview with an Indian woman as she drives through Delhi on her way to a kitty party. She explains that a kitty party is a monthly social gathering of a group of women, to "eat, drink and be merry", but that it is primarily concerned with money. Each member of the group contributes a sum to the "kitty", and at each gathering, lots are drawn to determine who will receive the lump sum of the kitty that month, to spend on whatever they wish. The kitty therefore represents both an opportunity for socialising and for saving money. The interviewee stresses how she considers the party members to be acquaintances rather than friends, but also the benefits to be gained from saving money in this manner.
