This course provides an introduction to important philosophical questions about the mind, specifically those that are intimately connected with contemporary psychology and neuroscience. Are our concepts innate, or are they acquired by experience? (And what does it even mean to call a concept 'innate'?) Are 'mental images' pictures in the head? Is color in the mind or in the world? Is the mind nothing more than the brain? Can there be a science of consciousness? The course will include guest lectures by Professors. Se pretende dar una visión básica y general del fenómeno de radiación electromagnética, definiendo por una parte los parámetros básicos que se utilizan para especificar dicha radiación y presentando por otra los tipos de antenas más comúnmente utilizados. Se introducen también los modelos físicos de propagación de las ondas electromagnéticas en los distintos entornos en que tiene lugar la comunicación por ondas de radio. Description

This interactive learning object is aimed at art students studying the human form. It aims to give students a greater understanding of how the human bone structure and muscles work and move, together with how the vital organs function in order to improve their life drawing skills. Using explanatory text, illustrations and animations, the resource identifies the basic bone structure of the human figure, describes the functions of different bones, and identifies the different muscle functions of the body. Activities are embedded within the resource to test students' knowledge and an accompanying assessment consolidates what they have learned. A number of tools are included to enhance students' experience of the resource, such as a magnifying glass, colour changer, calculator and notepad.

Description

Observation, measurement and the recording of data are central activities in science. Speculation and the development of new theories are crucial as well, but ultimately the predictions resulting from those theories have to be tested against what actually happens and this can only be done by making further measurements. Whether measurements are made using simple instruments such as rulers and thermometers, or involve sophisticated devices such as electron microscopes or lasers, there are decisions to be made about how the results are to be represented, what units of measurements will be used and the precision to which the measurements will be made. In this unit we will consider these points in turn.
