15.567 The Economics of Information provides an analysis of the underlying economics of information with management implications. It studies the effects of digitization and technology on industry, organizational structure, and business strategy, and examines pricing, bundling, and versioning of digital goods, including music, video, software, and communication services. In addition, the course considers the managerial implications of social networks, search, targeted advertising, personalization, privacy, network externalities, open source, and alliances. 15.567 The Economics of Information provides an analysis of the underlying economics of information with management implications. Information skills module

Description

This is a resource that introduces library skills and the Internet for beginners, students and staff. Developed in 2001, it is somewhat dated now, but the Web links have been updated and it remains a useful package. It covers topics including using the library catalogue and online searches; stock arrangement and classification; using the Web, search engines and subject gateways; using abstracts and indexes to find articles; reference collections; and evaluation and citation of sources. The project is structured into component activities and tasks (some 20-30 hours of material in all). Some links are specific to Staffordshire University, for which local links can be substituted in re-purposing the package.
