The aim of this project is to replace functionality that was lost from the migration of Blackboard to Moodle by using BigBlueButton Desktop video conferencing system. The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) aim to provide new methods of teaching to distance learners to ensure these students feel part of the University, regardless of their geographic location. Lectures can be recorded so that students who missed a lecture due to time zone differences, ill health or other reasons can still watch the recording. Recorded lectures are particularly useful for students for whom English is their second language and students who find it difficult to take notes during live lectures. In the event of severe weather, BigBlueButton will provide the ability to run courses from the lecturers’ homeSubjects
