Let’s get virtual: embedding inclusive learning and teaching in a student-generated experiential learning event

Description

This case study documents how a student-generated virtual conference for our range of international, distance and local students has embedded the UHI’s Inclusive Learning and Teaching approach in an experiential learning event. Both the idea and implementation for this project came from current post-graduate students with the Centre for Nordic Studies, with support given by academic and technical staff.

Delivering a full HNC Engineering course on the virtual learning environment (VLE)

Description

The Engineering department at Anniesland College had a few approaches from prospective students whose job took them away from home, and therefore could not attend college to study in the usual way. We were already in the process of setting up our VLE to help our own students study in a more flexible way, and decided we should look at how we could deliver the full HNC Electrical Engineering course to a range of students who wanted Further Education, but were precluded from doing so by geographical location
